Mike SturdivantBecause if his leadership abilities and proactive approach to conservation, Mike Sturdivant, Jr. was elected to serve as one of the founding members of the Delta F.A.R.M. Executive Committee in 1998. Since then, he has served Delta F.A.R.M. well and was recently elected to serve as the organization’s Chairman.

Born in Lambert, MS, Mike grew to attended Millsaps College and Harvard Business School before returning home to establish himself as a partner in the family farming business in 1974. While helping to grow the family business, Mike found himself serving in many leadership positions with organizations and business such as the MS Methodist Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, Federal Reserve Bank, National Cotton Council, Staplcotn, Chickasaw Council of Boy Scouts, Delta Council, Cotton Board, Pillow Academy Endowment Foundation, and the 1st Presbyterian Church of Greenwood.

In the field of conservation, the Sturdivant’s were one of the first families in Mississippi to use a conservation easement to protect the natural and aesthetic beauty of a wetland north of Minter City from future development. The family farm has also received numerous conservation awards, including several Delta F.A.R.M. Environmental Stewardship Awards.
